Yes, you can arrange for a third party to access your box by providing written authorization and ensuring that they comply with our access protocols and procedures. If the individual is not a registered user, they will not be permitted to enter the Vault, even if they present your key or attempt to contact us via phone or email. For security reasons, access to the Vault is restricted to authorized users only.
In our Rental Agreement, you have the option to designate authorized user(s) who can access your Safe Deposit Box in the unfortunate event of your passing. They will need to present your key along with a notarized Death Certificate to confirm your identity. Upon verification, the authorized individual can use your key to access the contents of the box. In the event they do not possess the key, our certified locksmith can replace the lock for an additional fee. If a client has not assigned authorized user(s) for their Safe Deposit Box, we require documentation such as the Death Certificate, Will, and Court Order authorizing the release of the Safe Deposit Box. Additionally, Knight Private Vault offers inheritance or Will Boxes specifically designed to be opened after your passing or on a predetermined date of your choosing. These boxes are sealed with wax until the designated time for opening. Fees for these services are paid in advance for a minimum of 3 years and qualify for a special discount.
